What a Week!!

Wow, this week has flown by!! It's been one of those weeks where I find myself wondering where the days went! It was definitely filled with lots of randomness...

the week started out on the rough side...

My sweet little Grayson, got his first ear infection. He had a double ear infection. Poor guy!! It just broke my 'mommy heart' to see him in so uncomfortable!! I'm so happy to report that he is doing much better and is his happy playful self again!

I fell in love with this app!!

I'm obsessed! If you follow me on insta or a fb friend, you know just how in love I am! Ha!!

I started running again!!

I hurt my knee during a half marathon in April and haven't been able to run since. I'm starting back slowly, the last thing I want to do is hurt my knee again. Buuuut, I am so happy to be running again!!!

Did you know yesterday was Flag Day?

Flag Day was my Grandmother's birthday. She passes away a few years ago. She was an amazing woman and I miss her terribly. I know she would have adored Connor and Grayson, she loved kids. For me, Flag day has become a sweet reminder of what a beautiful person she was.

Tomorrow is Father's Day!!!

I'm SO excited about tomorrow!! Kevin was deployed last year (which is why my little graphic has an anchor, he's in the Navy) so this is the first Father's day we'll be celebrating as a family!!

We took this picture about a year ago - crazy how much the boys have grown!!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Connor and Kevin, it's from Thanksgiving.

One of my favs of Kevin and Grayson! Such a typical shot of the two of them playing!

How was your week?!?

It's all about perspective….right???

'It's all about perspective' is one of my favorite sayings.  Honestly, I probably say it daily.

As much as I preach that saying, I know how hard it is practice.  For me, yesterday was one of those days. It was a rough one.  Like a 4-cup of coffee kind of a day.  Both boys are teething and my sweet little Grayson has a double ear infection.  It was a rough day.  Did I mention I got pooped on?  Yeah, the day may have ended with a deep glass of wine.

Late last night, while enjoying that delicious glass of wine, I was able to put it all in perspective and thank God for all the blessings I had - I am soooo thankful I have TWO amazing little boys who are so full of life and energy! Sooo thankful that this is Grayson's first infection and other than a 4 week nicu stay, is a incredibly healthy little man!  I'm so grateful they are both teething and growing. And, more than anything else, I am BEYOND thankful for the amazing man God called to be my husband.  Kevin and I are a team….and I love that.

Dreaming big dreams!

Happy Friday friends!!

Lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking about what I want out of life, what I want for my family, for my precious babies, and their babies (i.e. my grandchildren)...yeah, I've been doing a lot of thinking. Ha!! I pray everyday that my children will be blessed with healthy, happy lives and that they will know a closeness with God that is beyond understanding.

I also pray they have the blessing of being able to travel, see the world and learn about different cultures. Travel had such a big impact on my life, I want the same for them. One of my favorite quotes is, 'travel is the only thing you can buy that makes you richer.'

I dream about our family going on yearly family vacations to fun destinations as well as taking mission trips where we would able to help care for people in a way that will inspire my kiddos to have a deep empathy for everyone.

What about you? What are your dreams for your family?

Remember Me?!?

Hi blog friends! It's been forever!

Ok, so here's my blogging dilemma - I've wanted to start blogging again but how, HOW could I possibly catch my blog up to speed on everything that's happened in the past year?!?  There's just no way.  So, my plan is to just jump back into blogging about where we are now and maybe here and there do a post about when the boys were babies....if I have time! Ha!!

Life with twin boys is so much fun - more fun than I could have ever imagined.  Busy, but so much fun.  Lately, I've been feeling overwhelmed with all my daily 'mom' tasks and through studying God's word, I found these words that really helped me put it all in perspective

  • Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:2

LOOVED this one!  I've decided to start everyday by committing the day to the Lord.  Giving it to Him and asking that He bless all that I do and say.  This was especially important to me as a stay-at-home mom, I want to be a great example of Christ to my boys.

  • When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.  Isaiah 43:1-3
Wow, these verses were so powerful to me! HE is there with me through my everyday struggles!

  • Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. John 14:1
This was a important verse for me...I'm a worrier and I need to start 'giving' my worries to God.  Trusting in HIM.  Definitely a verse I pray on a lot.

I'd love to hear verses or quotes you go to when feeling overwhelmed! I'm all about words that lift us up!

Just thought I'd leave ya with a recent-ish picture of our family of 4!
