We've been in our new house for about 3 months now and despite my Type A personality, we aren't quite settled yet. Honestly, I've kinda had a hard time with it. When we moved to DC, I had our condo unpacked, decorated and organized in about 4 days - I thought this house would be a cinch, yeah...not so much. I should probably mention that when we lived in DC I wasn't working so I had a lot of Domestic Engineering time - I'm so thrilled and thankful to have nursing job (where I work a freaking ton) but wow, all this working has kinda gotten in the way of my personal time!
I guess I just feel like I'm ready to make this house a home!!
I am most excited about the memories we are going to make in this home. I see it as the place we will take our babies home from the hospital (someday) and a place where we have lots of family & friends over. It's amazing what four walls can do for you - how it becomes a home, a comfortable spot for you. Kevin and I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful place to live and continue our lives together.
When we first were looking at homes (it was a pretty long process) I remember walking into the our builders model home and now and just feeling at home. The house just had such a great feeling. Kevin and I looked and tons of houses and none of them ever felt like "home," so when we finally had that "we're at home" feeling, we knew it was what we were suppose to do! Instantly, we were excited about the possibilities of designing our own home - the carpet, walls, floors, counter tops, cabinets - everything!! It was a very fun and exciting process and I'm so glad we were able to do it!
I promise to post pictures...as soon as I get some decorating done. ;)
