Christmas Highlights

One of the first things on our Christmas vacation agenda was to see this movie!
It was just as great as everyone said - such an amazing and uplifting story. I'm so glad we were finally able to see it. If you haven't seen it yet, definitely hop on the bandwagon and watch it - you won't be disappointed. I know I can't wait for it to come out on video!!

On December 23rd, I was out and about trying to round up one last gift for Kevin (that Back & Decker Ready Wrench - which, sadly, I never found) but I did come across this adorable little tree. Soooo perfect for my kitchen tree. And....I had an idea to decorate it using cookie cutters....I don't know though, it might be one of those ideas that seemed better in my head....or maybe it just needs a little more attention. Either way, that's a problem for next year - ha ha ha!! :-)
...maybe smaller cookie cutters???? Any suggestions are totally welcome. :)

Kevin and I have a Christmas tradition that each Christmas Eve, we get each other new pj's - Kevin did an exceptionally good job this year - OU PJ's!! Woo Hoo!! Boomer Sooner!! *Sigh* I just love that Victoria's Secret now carries awesome OU apparel! ;)

Here's Kevin trying on one of his new shirts with his cuff links and watch....just a few presents he decided to model for me - lol! Ha ha!

Here I am with a few of my favs!! I can't wait to get in my new kitchen and cook up a storm!!
ps....my Mac did get Photo Shop for Christmas!!! ;)

The day after Christmas, when the rest of the State was shut down, the movie theaters were still open....(good thing too, we would have gone stir crazy without it!!) So, we bundled up and headed out to see this movie
Sooooo good!! Super entertaining!! It's definitely one we will buy when it comes out on video too!

I hope everyone had a safe and cozy holiday. I was just soooo thrilled to have a few days in my apartment all alone with my husband.....being snowed in isn't as bad as it sounds. ;)

Dinner & a Movie

After a long week, not a whole lot beats dinner and a movie with your wonderful husband and some great friends.

We went to Kona Grill - YUM!

We started off with some delicious calamari and then ordered a TON of sushi. I absolutely LOVE sushi!! I could seriously eat it everyday. And, of course, I had a great glass of wine with it. :)

Since I haven't seen our friends in a while we had LOTS of catching up to do. They are getting married in May so I was super curious to hear how wedding planning was going. I had a blast planning my wedding and Lindsey was a big help so I definitely want to be able to help her out too. Kevin & I (ok, me more than Kevin - lol) can't wait to be able to throw them a couples shower!!

After dinner we headed off to see He's just not that into you.

Mostly, I thought it was really cute. I was really surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Once you get passed some of the cheesy, chick-flick-ish comments, it had a really great message.

Fireproof Update

And, it was AMAZING. The story line was great. The music - well, let's just say that I have to get the soundtrack! It is obvious that the writers, directors, actors, and everyone else involved with the movie is filled with the Holy Spirit. The light of Christ shines throughout the film. Kevin and I went with another couple and they also enjoyed the movie. I feel so blessed to have so many Christ-centered couples in my life and in my blogging life. I truly appreciate how much I receivefrom all of you. :)

My only piece of advice is to bring lots of tissue!

Fireproof

Ok, first I should say that this is a non-food post....which I'm sure is obvious. :)
As everyone knows, I don't have much of a life beyond nursing school and I rarely see movies in the theater. HOWEVER, I am so going to make an exception for the movie Fireproof. I'm not sure why I feel such a huge desire to spread the word about this movie but, I do. God has really impressed on my heart the desire to tell of this movie's mission. I haven't seen it yet but, from what I've read it's about 2 good (I think Christian - I think) people who have entered into a marriage that is dissolving and neither knows how to save it and divorce seems to be the only choice. Here's the link to their website http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/

Kevin and I went through the most amazing marriage preparation classes. We were so blessed to have such wonderful God-centered couples as teachers who provided great literature and scripture to enhance the course. At the end, we were both left feeling very strongly about the bond of marriage and very strongly about sharing this feeling.

I know so many married couples facing hardships and I just wish I could sit them down explain to them how important it is to put your marriage first. I understand that today with ALL of the many things we have going on in our lives (I'm definitely talking to myself on this one! Lol!) that it is easy to not put 100% into our marriages. In our society, it's so easy to give up.....in my opinion, too easy.

Ok, I'm climbing off my soapbox. I certainly hope I haven't offended anyone. If I have, please know that it wasn't my intention. :)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Fall day!
