It finally happened....

it was above freezing today!!!

Just when I was beginning to wonder if I would ever see warmer temperatures....or if my flip-flops would ever see the light of day. I began to give up hope for Spring all together, BUT it actually got above freezing today!!! Yay!! In fact, I think we reached 44 degrees (that's pretty warm for Omaha) - yippee!! I actually went out without a coat....now once the sun went down and I found myself without a jacket I decided that I may have been a bit to eager - lol!! :)

Oh! And, I got the cutest hair cut today! Isn't it great how a new hair cut can really lift one's spirit?!?! I have the sweetest hairstylist, I just love her to death so going to see her is like visiting a friend, which always makes me happy. :)

Just one more thing...today is one of my Twitter friend's, (Jennifer) birthday. She has an adorable blog that I highly recommend visiting so, if you happen to stop by, be sure to wish her a happy birthday (or, belated birthday - lol). Happy Birthday!!

Perfect Day

I love this photo!!! We snapped this photo on our honeymoon in Jamaica. When I glance through then, I often have the though - "Can I please go back?" If I was independently wealthy, my backyard would resemble this sandy beach, complete with the pier and boat, of course. ;)

What I should be doing vs What I want to do

I have lots to do today, like: study, do homework, start my papers, & attend our first Financial Peace University class (we are trying to be proactive about our finances and I really pretty excited about this one actually). But, no matter what, I find my mind drifting to other topics making studying, trying to write my papers or just concentrating impossible - so frustrating. I think maybe I'm having a late onset of ADD...I'm not sure if that's even possible though - lol! Here's what I'm thinking about:

Having a Spa Day

Playing with my Lab Puppy...yes, that would be the Lab we don't have yet

Relaxing on the beach with a good book & cool drink


Exploring the streets of Italy

Sipping coffee with Kevin at this adorable cafe - in what looks like warm weather

Napping outside in this comfy hammock/daybed

Just hanging out with my husband

What about you? Any problems staying on task? Any suggestions on how to keep my concentration on one thing???

9 Degrees....Seriously?!?!

Seriously, 9?!?! But...it's March now and it's warm in March - right??? Clearly, I'm very wrong.

Well, part of my nightly getting-ready-for-bed ritual consists of watching the news to find out what the weather will be for the following day....and tonight I wish I wouldn't have been listening when the nice weatherman said it was going to be 9 degrees tomorrow morning with wind chills being below zero (I don't know how far below zero because I stop listening when they say crazy things like "below zero"). So, make to my point - 9 degrees. Yeah, 9. Apparently, we only got up to 14 today. Wow, I am cold just thinking about how cold I will be tomorrow morning.

I think I'm going to boycott winter for the rest of the season....I'm not really sure what that means but, I'm so ready for this cold weather to be over! Who's with me??? I will definitely have to take some steaming hot coffee with me to my 8 o'clock class.

My New Signature

I've been wanting to make a signature for a while now but haven't because I thought it would be really, super hard and so I just never did....until today. It was kinda on my to-do list so on my study break I thought I would just try - I even gave myself a 30 minute deadline. Well, I did it! Yes, it's really, really simple but, I like it. :) I am so surprised at how easy it was. Yay!

Sunday Morning....

After our fun date Friday night, Kevin had to wake up early Saturday morning to leave. Of course I'm going to miss him tons. While he's away, I'm determined to get some random stuff done - like the upcoming papers I have due, some random cards mailed that I've been meaning to get out and I am SOOO determined to get down to the Social Security office to get my last name changed....yeah, I know, I've been married since September and I still have gotten around to changing my name on everything. Was anyone else surprised at how much work it takes to change your last name???


I had such a wonderful morning. I spent it leisurely putting away all my clinical stuff, watching tv, doing laundry, cooking stuff for the upcoming week and of course, catching up on all my favorite blogs!! What did you ladies do this weekend?
